I am gonna get some hate from Americans for this, because while I think 4449 is a great engine, I do not believe, as many fanatical Americans do, that it is 'the greatest steam engine in the world and all the others are crap compared to it'.

Though it is a great surviving icon of the steam era here in the United States, is shares the stage with many equally outstanding steam locomotives around the world.
However, it certainly is one of the most colorful and photogenic of the field.
When I was a child, it was one of four locomotives parked on display next to The Oaks Park here in Portland, OR. I grew up loving her. That was in the late 1950's.

Either way, It's a great snap, out in the bright sunshine.
They are taking out the roundhouse where these engines were kept. They saved the turntable to be reused at this location.
